Instagram’s Comments Are Getting More Interactive with Polls

Instagram is testing a new feature that allows users to create polls in the comments section of their feed posts and Reels clips (you can already run polls inΒ DMs). This feature is currently only available to a select group of users, but Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has said that it will be rolling out to everyone soon.

Polls are a popular way to engage with followers and gather feedback. They can be used to ask questions about anything, from what kind of content people want to see more of to what kind of products they’re interested in.

To create a poll in the comments section of a feed post or Reel, users simply need to tap the “+” button and select the “Poll” sticker. They can then add their question and up to four answer options. Once the poll is created, users can share it in the comments section of their post or Reel.

Other users can then vote on the poll by tapping the answer option of their choice. Users can also see how many people have voted on each option and what the current results are.

Polls in comments could be a valuable tool for brands and creators to learn more about their followers and what they want to see. They can also be used to boost engagement rates and make the comments section more interactive.

Here are some ideas for how brands and creators can use polls in comments:

  • Ask followers what kind of content they want to see more of (e.g., photos, videos, Reels, etc.)
  • Ask followers what topics they’re interested in learning more about
  • Ask followers for their feedback on new products or services
  • Ask followers to vote on which product or service they would like to see released next
  • Run contests and giveaways with polls
  • Use polls to start conversations and build relationships with followers

It’s still early days for polls in comments, but it’s an exciting new feature that could revolutionize the way people interact with content on Instagram.
